Good old fashioned fun!
If you feel like a warm toasted sandwich and a cheap long neck then St Jerome’s is the place to be.
A small (extremely small) bar well hidden in a dingy alley way around the corner from Myer, St Jerome's manages to give off a very chilled-out and friendly vibe.
A laid back café by day that transforms into a grungy, electro bar at night with a DJ area set up out the back. This bar is always packed out on weekends regardless of the weather and is very popular with the younger crowd.
Well worth a drink or two during the week or to start your night off on the weekend.
If you feel intimidated by bars with ritzy leather sofas, chandeliers and cocktails with movie-ticket price tags, St Jerome's is the place to be.
Squeezed into a former Swiss cafe in a dingy laneway next to Myer, this drinking hole is as downbeat as you can get.
The tiny bar, serving beer, wine and spirits, is bedecked with retro pictures and daggy decor.
The loading bay courtyard continues the theme with old couches and concrete walls.
Somehow, it works beautifully, producing a laid-back vibe and a friendly but buzzy crowd.
