Today it is fast becoming one of Victoria's top live music venues, famous around Australia for attracting great Blues and Roots musicicians to perform in the wonderful atmosphere that a huge open fire, no pokies and traditional pub hospitality can offer.
Not only is this pub and beer garden out the rear famoua for live music but on saturdays it is just accross the road from the famous St Andrews market. No saturday is better spend at the market the over the the beer garden for drinks and lunch.
While your there also visit the St. Andrews Market :
This market is truly out of this world. The varieties of goods are unique and alternative, as are the retailers. The market is set in a tranquil bush setting and features homemade and home grown goods. You will find everything from beautiful crystals to hand knitted beanies and scarves. They serve up delicious lentil burgers and for a drink to warm up the senses, chai tea is a delight.
Over the years the stalls have changed from offering shrivelled fruit and vegetables labelled as 'organic' to offering good quality (mainly organic) produce at competitive prices. There are also a number of prepared food stalls which now offer very good value without the cardboard taste often associated with 'wholefoods'. The Thai food stall offers particularly good value.
St Andrews is 35 kilometres from the city and is held every Saturday morning from 8am until 2pm rain, hail or shine. Entry is free. Ph 03 9438 3371
Note: When you visit the Market, don't park opposite 'double lines' - There's often parking police around !!

Our hours of operation are:
Monday to Friday - 11am til 11pm
Saturday - 10:30am til 12:30am
Sunday - 12pm til 9pm
Old style pub, Good Food, Great Music
This is my absolute faviourite pub. The beer garden is small but unique decking slopping down the back of the pub.
